The top 5 women empowerment events in Utah you shouldn’t miss this fall

When we say Utah, we immediately see those stunning pictures of unbeatable sceneries. The fascinating National Parks and Canyons, the vibrant metropolis of Salt Lake City and the headquarter of the Mormon community all add to the uniqueness of this state. With the highest literacy rate in the USA and as a home to numerous women empowering associations, Utah has always something to offer. We looked around and collected the top 5 women empowerment events for this Fall that any local and visitor should attend.

 

October (2)Ȼents & $ensibility: Women and Money

Orem, UTAH, USARegister & ticket

Date & Time: September 9, 2015 at 6h30pm – 8h30pm

My alma mater Utah Valley University is hosting the Utah Women’s Leadership Speaker & Dialogue Series on September 9, 2015, at 6:30 pm in the Ragan Theater. The event will focus on empowering women with financial knowledge; that in turn will allow women to become more proactive in their educational and economic decisions. The Keynote Speaker will be Gail Miller. She is the owner & chair of Larry H. Miller Group of Companies, one of Utah’s most recognizable organizations. After her address, there will be the three breakout sessions:

  1. Show Me the Money
  2. A Man is Not a Financial Plan
  3. Family Finances Boot Camp

This will be a wonderful community event for women to expand their network and find their voice.

Chain of Empowerment

Salt Lake City, UTAH, USARegister & ticket

Date & Time: September 13, 2015 at 10am – Noon

The Chain of Empowerment project will be held on Saturday, September 13 from 10 am to noon at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art. Participants will be able to help create a paper chain link that will represent the dreams of Utah’s women and girls. The Chain of Empowerment will then be displayed outside of the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art. This project is in support of the popular documentary titled MAKERS: Women Who Make America. The documentary focuses on the impact women have made over the past 150 years in six various industries including politics, space, war, business, comedy and Hollywood.

 

YWCA Annual Luncheon

Salt Lake City, UTAH, USARegister & ticket

Date & Time:  September 25, 2015 at 11h30am – 2pm

The YWCA is one of the largest and oldest women’s organization in America. As the Utah chapter states “The YMCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. For more than 100 years, the YWCA Utah has been a voice for women, a force for change, and a place for hope in Utah.” The Annual Leader Luncheon will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015, from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm at the iconic Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah. The keynote speaker will be Laura Ling, who in 2009 was held captive for 140 days in North Korea. She will tell of her experience and how she was able to maintain hope in a horrific situation. Come and learn from her courage and be a part of one of Utah’s strongest women organizations.

Wild Women Symposium

Date & Time: October 2-4, 2015

Suzanne Wagner is a well known psychic and author who developed the Wild Women Series. The Series of events are designed for women aiming to connect, explore and live the full expression of their wild and authentic feminine archetypes. The series is divided into three categories: Life, Love, and Light. The symposium will be October 2-5, 2015 at the Leonardo Museum in Salt Lake City, Utah and it line up facilitators from all facets of life. Women are promised to enjoy the following experiences as they attend this event:

  1. “Discover who you truly are and start leading a life of joy and purpose
  2. Have a safe and supporting environment to learn and grow.
  3. Connect to a tribe of other amazing and like-minded women
  4. Learn about and experience new modalities
  5. Uncover and develop your own intuitive gifts.”

Time Out for Women

November 20-21, 2015

Time Out for Women, known as TOFW, is one of Utah’s most well-known events dedicated to women. As they define their mission “Time Out for Women has been inviting faithful women to step away from the daily routine and make space for themselves and their spiritual lives”. The whole started as a weekend event more than 10 years ago and since then it has grown into a strong, worldwide community where like-minded women get-together to enjoy some music, presents, laughter, while making lasting friendships and connections. The success of the events lies in its multiple aims to re-energize and entertain, inspire and unwind all attendees. As women, we have many different interests and concerns, TOFW offers you the opportunity to hear from presenters focused on your particular needs. This fall, Time Out For Women has two scheduled fall events in Utah, make sure you come and enjoy one of the State’s most inspirational gathering.

Betsy Allred Toyn
Betsy currently resides in Utah, USA, where she was born and raised. After the birth of her little girl, Betsy decided to leave the workforce and become a full-time mom.
